A disappointing update has emerged on Triple H’s plans for Santos Escobar on WWE’s main roster.
On last week’s episode of NXT 2.0 Heatwave, Santos Escobar lost his blood feud match to long-time rival Tony D’Angelo.
The match was significant for a few reasons, mainly because of what the loss means for Escobar’s future in WWE.
As a result of losing the match, Santos will now have to leave NXT 2.0, with it being reported that this is the view of bringing him up to the main roster.
So, while it hasn’t officially been announced yet, all signs are pointing towards the former Cruiserweight Champion landing on either Raw or SmackDown in the near future.
Santos is the leader of Legado del Fantasma, his stable with Cruz Del Toro, Joaquin Wilde and Elektra Lopez, and many fans expected the faction to move up to the main roster together.
However, as revealed by Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, it seems like the plan is for Santos to come up on his own (via WrestleTalk).
Joaquin Wilde and Cruz (Del Toro), it looks like they’re staying in NXT. They’re not coming up if Santos is coming up. Because they did house shows over the weekend as part of Tony D’Angelo’s stable, and it looks like that is how it is gonna go down.
This update will come as disappointing news to WWE fans, many of whom are big fans of Legado del Fantasma as an act, and wanted to see them on the main roster together.
There’s always a chance that WWE brings up Wilde, Lopez and Cruz in the future, but as of right now, it seems like the plan is to have Santos as a solo act.
As of right now, there’s no word on what plans WWE has for Santos, but many fans expect the 38-year-old to work with Rey Mysterio pretty quickly.
WWE has long been looking for its next Latino star to replace Mysterio, and many fans feel as if Santos has all the potential to be that guy.

Regardless of what WWE does with Santos, fans will be hoping that Triple H changes his mind and looks to bring up Legado del Fantasma as a complete act, such is the popularity of the group.
