Tyson Fury & Roman Reigns going face-to-face at WWE Clash at the Castle

Following the conclusion to the Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre title fight, where the former retained his belt once again, there was more drama to follow after the final bell.

Tyson Fury, the two-time world heavyweight boxing champion, was in attendance at the Clash at the Castle pay-per-view as he enjoys his short-lived retirement following his convincing victory against Dillian Whyte earlier this year.

It is expected he will return to the boxing ring soon, but it appears it won’t be for the much-anticipated unification fight with Oleksandr Usyk. Instead, Fury will fight another, as yet unspecified opponent, before one would expect that Usyk fight in the early part of 2023.

Even without a fight to promote, Fury can’t resist the limelight and it was once again the case at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on Saturday night.

The crowd really buzzed as the 6”9 giant entered the ring and succeeded in making the 6”3 Reigns appear small in comparison.

You can hear the excitement building in the crowd, unsure how this confrontation will pan out. The tension is palpable, with the crowd desperate for Fury to land a blow on Reigns. You can see the apprehension on Reigns’ face, and he doesn’t look confident of his chances if Fury were to strike him.

The pair face off for what feels like an age before the tension is finally broken as Fury offers his hand and the two athletes acknowledge each other. Pardon the pub.

Fury ends up nodding his head in respect for the performance that Reigns had shown in the ring.

The two may not always be so civil, though, as Fury has acknowledged that a career in the WWE may await once he has finally put to bed his boxing career.

How many world titles has Roman Reigns held in WWE?

It would be a coup for the organisation to land a global superstar like Fury, who drips with charisma and physical presence.

Those conversations may be happening in the background, but for now, Fury is focused on more big money boxing fights and further increasing his legacy. The wrestling will have to wait.
